China strengthens copyright protection
font size

The Chinese government vowed in Beijing Wednesday it will strengthen protection for copyright.

Wang Ziqiang, spokesman of the National Copyright Administration (NCA), said at a press conference organized by the State Council Information Office, the NCA started from the spring of 2005 a series of special operations to crack down on pirated optical discs and pirated audio-video products, as well as intensify a campaign to rid the Internet piracy and copyright infringements.

The NCA also worked hard to publicize the Regulations on the Collective Management of Copyright, and, together with the Ministry of Information Industry, worked out the Methods of Administrative Protection of Internet Copyright.

Wang said, the Chinese government will enforce its instructions to the copyright trade, and copyright administration departments at all levels will promote copyright trade in various ways.
