font size

U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney is due to visit Lithuania, Kazakhstan and Croatia early next month, the vice president's office said in a statement on Wednesday.

Cheney will address a summit of leaders of the Baltic and Black Sea regions on May 4 in Vilnius, Lithuania, before he goes to Kazakhstan and Croatia.

In Kazakhstan, Cheney is to meet President Nursultan Nazarbayev. Cheney's mission there is "to strengthen our bilateral relationship on the basis of our shared strategic interests and desire to promote democratic reform and economic development," the statement said.

During his stay in Croatia, Cheney will have multi-party talks with officials from Croatia, Albania and Macedonia.
