Chinese President Hu Jintao left New Haven, Connecticut, Friday afternoon after a brief visit to Yale University.

Yale University is the last stop of President Hu's four-day U.S. trip, which has taken him to the U.S. capital of Washington and Seattle, Washington state.

At Yale, Hu presented books to the school and delivered a speech.

In Washington, the Chinese president had talks with his counterpart George W. Bush and met with senior U.S. officials on the Sino-U.S. relations and major world and regional issues.

In Seattle, Hu met local officials and visited Microsoft and Boeing facilities.

The goal of Hu's U.S. visit was to enhance exchanges and mutual trust and expand consensus and cooperation so as to jointly promote the Sino-US constructive cooperative relations, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

Hu will continue his five-nation tour, which will also take him to Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Nigeria and Kenya.
