New hydrogen peroxide solution plant goes into production in MyanmarA newly-built hydrogen peroxide ( H2O2) solution plant of Myanmar in the central part of Chauk went into production on Sunday. Situated at 600 kilometers from Yangon, the plant, which stands as one of Myanmar's major chemical projects, was built under a contract between the Myanmar Paper and Chemical Industries under the Ministry of Industry-1 and the China Machinery Complete Corporation (CMCC) signed in April 2002. Attending the inaugural ceremony of the plant were Myanmar Prime Minister General Soe Win and several ministers as well as Counselor of the Chinese Embassy Yu Boren. The plant will produce 10,000 tons of the chemical annually, 50 percent of which will meet the domestic demand, while the rest will be exported, according to the plant experts. The hydrogen peroxide solution is mainly used in manufacturing paper, textile and medicine. Myanmar had no production of the hydrogen peroxide solution at all previously and had to import nearly all 2,000 tons of the chemical annually to meet the local demand, which is seen to rise by 5,000 tons per year when some existing projects of paper manufacturing and textile are completed.
