Macao's composite consumer price index (CCPI) in March decreased 0.12 percent over the previous month, standing at 106.63, according to official statistics issued here on Monday.
The government-run Statistics and Census Service (SCS) attributed the decrease of CCPI to the discount offered in long- distance calls, price reduction in the seasonal sales of clothing and lower expense of outbound package tours.
However, the SCS figures showed that the CCPI witnessed a year- on-year rise of 5.19 percent in March, a strong indicator that the incomes of Macao residents have been keeping rising.
