China, Bangladesh agree to deepen law-enforcement cooperation
font size

China and Bangladesh agreed on Monday to deepen the cooperation on fighting crimes.

"There is great potential of cooperation between Chinese public security departments and Bangladeshi law-enforcement departments as both assume the tasks of fighting crimes and safeguarding social orders," Chinese Public Security Minister Zhou Yongkang said in a meeting with visiting Bangladeshi Minister of State for Home Affairs Mohammad Babar.

Urging the two sides to further carry out the agreements, Zhou also called for stronger cooperation on personnel exchanges, fighting crimes and more coordination in international police organizations and other multi-lateral occasions.

Noting that Bangladesh values friendly ties with China, Babar said Bangladeshi Home Affair Department would like to step up law-enforcement cooperation with the Chinese Public Security Ministry.

Babar started his China tour on Sunday as guest of the Chinese Public Security Ministry.
