China's trade volume with the European Union and the United States exceeded 200 billion US dollars in 2005, according to the 2006 spring report by the Ministry of Commerce on China's foreign trade.
Bilateral trade volume between China and the EU reached 217.31 billion US dollars, up 22.6 percent. China's trade volume with the US amounted to 211.63 billion dollars, up 24.8 percent.
According to the report, China's exports to the EU and US grew 34.1 percent and 30.4 percent respectively, imports from the two increased by 5 percent and 9.1 percent. China recorded trade surplus of 70.12 billion US dollars and 114.17 billion US dollars with EU and US respectively.
Japan's trade volume with China grew 9.9 percent to 184.41 billion dollars, 15.8 percentage point down compared with a year ago.
Russia, South Korea and ASEAN continued to be China's large trade partners, with trade volume up 37.1 percent, 24.3 percent and 23.1 percent respectively.
Bilateral trade between China and Africa, Latin America surged 34.9 percent and 26.1 percent respectively.
