China calls for legal education among citizens
font size

China announced a five-year plan of legal education of the public on Thursday.

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the State Council called on localities to implement the plan in accordance with local condition in a circular issued recently.

The circular said legal education is the basis for raising the legal awareness of citizens and for building a socialist country ruled by law.

The circular urged party committees, people's congresses and governments at all levels to strengthen leadership of legal education and put it part of the overall plan for economic and social development.
