Asian Development Bank takes in Brunei as member

The Asian Development Bank ( ADB) has taken in Brunei as its 65th member, local reports said on Friday.

The bank Thursday held a ceremony to mark Brunei's membership at the bank's head office in Manila, capital of the Philippines, Malaysia's national news services Bernama said.

The ADB is a multilateral development financial institution established in 1966. It is dedicated to promote and accelerate the economic cooperation in the region through lending and technical assistance.

It is reported that the bank's annual lending volume is about 6 billion U.S. dollars, with technical assistance usually totaling about 180 million U.S. dollars each year.
