Bank reports on China's current, capital accounts surpluses for 2005

A China central bank report published on Friday said China's current account surplus was 160.8 billion U.S. dollars last year.

The capital account surplus stood at 63 billion U.S. dollars, with the net inflow of direct investment amounting to 67.8 billion dollars while the net outflow of security investment stood at 4.9 billion dollars.

The net outflow of other types of of investment was 4 billion dollars.

The report said China's foreign exchange reserves rose to 818.9 billion dollars at the end of 2005, or 208.9 billion dollars more than 2004.
