Japan's largest auto maker Toyota plans to call back 1,113 lexus GS 430/300 series in China which reportedly have design defects in front seat safety belt.

A source with the State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said here on Friday that the Toyota Motor (China)Investment Ltd. Co. submitted a report to the administration on Thursday, saying that it will recall the 1,113 cars which were produced and sold to China by Toyota between July 27, 2005 and Jan. 17, 2006.

These cars have design defects in front seat safety belt, said the company.

"Toyota will change the front-seat safety belt for these vehicles to ensure the life security of the drivers and consumers, " the company said.

Toyota also said it would guarantee safety for the vehicles after the change.
