It is reported that the gross product of Beijing reached 168.16 billion yuan, a growth of 13.3 percent, or 2.2 percentage points higher compared to the same period of last year, which is also higher than the 9 percent goal set for the whole year. The income of urban and rural dwellers maintained fast growth. In the first quarter, Beijing's fixed assets investment reached 37.99 billion yuan, rising by 17.5 percent; retailing sales amounted to 78.03 billion yuan, up 12.9 percent or 4.8 percentage points higher compared to the growth of the same period of last year; the structure of consumer demand with "housing and transport" taking the lead continued to deepen, and cars, household appliances, gold and silver, and oil products became marketing focus.
