    Maglev train test successful

    China successfully tested a low-to medium-speed magnetic levitation train, the first domestically developed one in the country, in Chengdu, capital city of Southwest China's Sichuan Province, April 30, 2006. The test maglev train is 11.2 meters long, 2.6 meters wide and 3.3 meters high. It ran steadily on a 425-meter-long experimental line. With a weight of 18 tons, the test train can hold 60 people. It can travel at speeds of up to 160 kilometers per hour.

    Guxiangli theme park in Guangzhou

    The picture taken on April 29, 2006 shows a general view of a theme park named Guxiangli (means "the hometown" ) in Huadu District of Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province. The theme park presents the scene of daily life and the architectural style a hundred years ago in the waterside region of Lingnan. The park will be opened to the public formally during the May Day holiday.

    Stranded black finless porpoise rescued

Five black finless porpoises were found stranded in the Jiaojiang District of Taizhou April 30. After two hours' efforts, they were all rescued and put back to water.
