Dollar hits 7-month low against yen in Tokyo

The U.S. dollar fell to a seven-month low against the yen on Monday in Tokyo, trading at lower 113 yen.

At 5:00 p.m., the dollar traded at 113.18-21 yen, compared with its 5:00 p.m. Friday quotes of 113.79-89 yen in New York and 114. 31-33 yen in Tokyo.

The dollar briefly touched 113.03 yen in the afternoon, its lowest level since Sept. 30 in Tokyo trading. The day's high in Tokyo was 113.84 yen, with the dollar most frequently trading at 113.10 yen.

The euro traded at 1.2617-2620 dollars and 142.83-87 yen, against its 5:00 p.m. Friday quotes of 1.2628-2638 dollars and 143. 70-80 yen in New York and 1.2543-2545 dollars and 143.38-42 yen in Tokyo.
