Two Iraqi policemen wounded in bomb attack in Baghdad
font size

A roadside bomb went off near a police patrol in eastern Baghdad on Friday morning, wounding two policemen, a police source told Xinhua.

"An explosive charge detonated near the Oil Ministry on the Palestine Street, damaging a police vehicle and wounding two policemen aboard," said Captain Ahmed Abdullah from Baghdad police.

In a separate incident, another roadside bomb exploded in Baghdad's southern district of Camp Sarah, damaging several civilian cars but causing no human casualties, Abdullah added.

Insurgents frequently mount attacks on Iraq's fledgling police troops, accusing them of being collaborators with the U.S. occupation forces.
