Singapore, Pakistan end third round of FTA talksSingapore and Pakistan finished their third round of talks on a bilateral free trade agreement ( FTA) Friday, Ministry of Trade and Industry said in a statement. "Both sides had fruitful discussions and made further progress on the key issues tabled during the third round in the chapters on trade in goods, rules of origin, trade in services, investment, government procurement, customs, and the legal elements of the FTA, " the statement said. The next round of talks is expected to be held in Pakistan by July this year. Singapore and Pakistan began their FTA negotiations from August 2005. So far, Singapore has concluded 11 FTAs with trading partners like the United States, the European Free Trade Association, Japan and India, while more FTAs are still under negotiations.
