China's auto exports double in first quarter

China exported 62,628 units of vehicles in the first three months of this year, up 139 percent from a year ago, according to Zhang Ji, vice director of Department of Import and Export of Electromechanical Products of the Ministry of Commerce.

Customs statistics show China's vehicle export reached 646.96 million U.S. dollars in the first quarter, an increase of 204.5 percent year on year.

During the period, China exported 16,813 units of sedans and 565 units of land rovers, up 458 percent and 334 percent respectively from the same period of last year.
