Mexican university opens China-Mexico study center
font size

The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City set up a China-Mexico Study Center or Cechimex, Roberto Escalante, director of UNAM Economics Faculty, said on Monday.

There was a great difference between China's economic performance and that of other developing nations, Escalante said.

Cechimex would study China's sustained and accelerating economic growth and how to strengthen links between Mexico and China, the director said.

He added that his faculty would call on the Chinese and Mexican government workers, companies and trade associations to help boost its international education.

Cechimex's coordinator Enrique Dussel said that the new center would try to work with the public sector, the private sector and academies to promote the knowledge about China in Mexico.

It was an excellent opportunity for the development of the Sino-Mexican relations and would give Mexico a chance to boost its economic growth and employment, Dussel said.
