Chinese Embassy and Jakarta-based Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Monday held a seminar on Sino-Indonesian relations aimed at "substantiating the Strategic Partnership" established last year.
Chinese President Hu Jintao and Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono exchanged state visits last year and signed the joint declaration on strategic partnership.
"Last year was of the most important significance in the history of China-Indonesia relations. The establishment of strategic partnership between the two countries has set the direction for the future of our relations and is of far-reaching historical significance in the development of bilateral relationship," Ambassador Lan Lijun said while opening the seminar.
A wide range of Indonesian government officials, parliament members, scholars, business representatives as well as Chinese entrepreneurs and scholars were invited to share views and insights on the strategic partnership.
Minister of Trade Mari Elka Pangestu and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro are scheduled to deliver keynote addresses at the seminar.
