China encounters the most anti-dumping measuresChina encountered the most anti-dumping sanctions among all WTO members in the later half of 2005. It ran into 33 anti-dumping investigations and 22 final measures were brought into effect. At the same time, there were 82 newly-conducted anti-dumping investigations by WTO members and 76 final measures were carried out. During the same period of 2004, the Chinese mainland's exported products faced 24 anti-dumping investigations and 25 measures were put into effect. The anti-dumping report issued by the WTO on its official website on May 8 shows that both the number of new anti-dumping investigations and that of final measures carried out by WTO members declined in the latter half of last year compared with a year earlier, with106 newly-conducted investigations and 93 final measures. As to anti-dumping measures, the report indicates that the US came after China with 7 anti-dumping measures. Taiwan and Russia followed on the heels of the US with 5 anti-dumping measures each. The WTO also revealed that China initiated the most anti-dumping investigations during the second half of 2005, 13 in total; while the EU adopted anti-dumping measures the most frequently, 19 in number.
