100th anniversary of late revolutionary veteran marked

A workshop was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Wednesday to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of late revolutionary veteran Wang Shoudao (1906-1996).

Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee attended the workshop.

Wang Zhongyu, vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, addressed the gathering and recalled Wang Shoudao's revolutionary life and contribution to the nation.

Wang Shoudao was called an excellent member of the CPC, an established Communist fighter, a proletarian revolutionary and founder of New China's transportation industry.

Also present were vice-chairpersons of the CPPCC National Committee Liu Yandong, Li Guixian and Luo Haocai, and Zheng Wantong, secretary-general of the CPPCC National Committee.
