Vietnam reaped nearly 1 billion U.S. dollars from exporting goods to China in the first four months of this year, a year-on-year rise of 25 percent, a local trade information agency said on Friday.

Key products sold to the market included rubber, seafood, cashew nuts, fruits, vegetables, and minerals, said the Trade Information Center under the Trade Ministry.

Between January and April, Vietnam made export turnovers of roughly 6 billion dollars to Asian markets, accounting for nearly half of its total export revenues in the period.

Chinese statistics show Vietnam-China trade surged 21.6 percent to 8.2 billion dollars in 2005. Specifically, China exported 5.64 billion dollars to and imported 2.55 billion dollars from Vietnam, up 32.5 percent and 2.8 percent respectively.
