Zambia bans import of sub-standard lubricantThe Zambian government has banned all unlicensed companies from importing lubricants to avoid the country being used as dumping ground for sub-standard oils, said Zambia Daily Mail on Friday. Minister of Energy Felix Mutati was quoted as saying that all unlicensed companies would be bared at borders of entry from importing lubricants. This was revealed by the minister at a convention on lubricants standards on Thursday during which guidelines for the standards were launched. Mutati said the launch of the guidelines on lubricants standards marked a major shift in the marketing of oils in the country. "As the government, we would like to see a country with sanity in the energy sector, be it lubricants, petrol, diesel or electricity," the minister said. Source: Xinhua |
