font size

India will release and repatriate six Pakistani prisoners to Pakistan on May 17, said the Ministry of External Affairs Friday.

The prisoners will travel back home through Attari border in northwest India's Punjab, the ministry spokesman said in a press briefing here Friday.

On the other side of the border to Attari is Wagah.

The spokesman said India has released 16 Pakistani prisoners on February 13 and April 13 this year. With the proposed release in May, the total number will reach 22 so far this year.

When asked whether there is any reciprocal step from Pakistan, he said that India has not got any information on that.
