Myanmar confirms one killed in explosion in Bago divisionThe Myanmar authorities have confirmed that a cyclist was killed in a recent explosion which took place in central Bago division. According to Sunday's official newspaper New Light of Myanmar, the explosion occurred on the Yangon-Mandalay highway in the division's Penwegon-Kyauktaka township on Friday afternoon, about 200 kilometers north of Yangon. The cyclist, 22, riding on a bicycle, was blown up into pieces, the report said, adding that the incident is under investigation. It was the second explosion at the same location. The prior one, which was a minor bomb blast near an electric transformer, occurred on May 4 with no casualties claimed but some damage to the device. So far, no organization has claimed the responsibility of the two incidents. The first explosion came on the day after the Myanmar authorities issued warning on May 4 against possible renewed terrorist attacks in three major cities -- Yangon, Mandalay and Mawlamyine in the country, publishing through official media general features of 19 wanted terrorists and calling for exposure of them.
