Liang Guanglie, chief of the general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), left Beijing Sunday to visit Denmark, Norway and Russia.
Liang, a member of the 11-strong Central Military Commission, China's top military authority, would be a guest of the armed forces of the three countries, according to the Chinese Defense Ministry.
His entourage includes Gu Wengen, deputy commander of the PLA Guangzhou Military Area Command and commander of the South China Sea Fleet; Zhao Zhongxin, chief of staff of the PLA Air Force; and Meng Jinxi, deputy commander of the PLA Chengdu Military Area Command.
