font size

A senior Chinese official has underlined the importance of improving creativity in corporations to improve the nation's innovation and scientific research and development achievements.

State Councilor Chen Zhili made the remarks while inspecting the eastern Shandong province, the base of leading corporations, including Haier and Hisense.

Chen said corporations played a vital role in promoting technological innovation, and should follow closely market demand and advanced technologies.

Chen said government departments should encourage corporations to enhance research investment and join with universities to set up market-oriented research centers.

It was crucial to offer preferential policies on financial support, tax and government procurement so as to inspire corporations to make more effort in technological innovation, she said.
