A roadside bomb went off near a parking lot in central Baghdad on Monday, killing an Iraqi civilian and wounding three others, an Interior Ministry source said.
"A makeshift bomb detonated at about 10:25 a.m. (0625 GMT) near Baghdad's al-Nahdha parking lot, killing an Iraqi civilian and wounding three others," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The blast also set ablaze a fuel tanker belonging to the local municipality, he said.
The target of the attack was not clear as there were no U.S. or Iraqi security forces at the scene at the time of the attack, he added.
The attack came shortly before the trial of the toppled president Saddam Hussein and his seven codefendants resumes in Baghdad on crimes against humanity, including the killing of 148 Shiite men of the northern Dujail village after a failed assassination attempt on Saddam's life in 1982.
