China will make joint efforts with Cuba to further promote the in-depth growth of bilateral relations, a senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official said in Beijing Monday.
Liu Qi, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks during a meeting with Pedro Saez Montejo, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba.
Liu spoke highly of Cuba's achievements in socialist construction and the exchanges and cooperation between the two Communist Parties and the two countries.
The CPC is ready to further enhance the party-to-party relations with the Communist Party of Cuba, in a bid to push for the Sino-Cuban relations, Liu said.
Liu, also secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, said Beijing is ready to further increase exchanges and cooperation with Havana, Cuba's national capital city with Saez as the first secretary of the Havana municipal committee of the Communist Party of Cuba.
Voicing his appreciation for China's support to Cuba, Saez said the two countries would further enhance exchanges in party building and city construction.
Saez and his party arrived here Sunday on a week-long visit to China as guest of Liu Qi.
