China's top legislator leaves for 4 European countries

China's top legislator, Wu Bangguo, left Beijing Wednesday on official goodwill visits to Romania, Moldova, Greece and Russia.

Wu, chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC), will also attend the meeting of parliamentary leaders of the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to be held in Moscow.

Wu's entourage includes his wife Zhang Ruizhen, NPC Standing Committee Vice-Chairman Raidi, and some other senior officials.

Wu is invited by President of the Senate Nicolae Vacaroiu and President of the Chamber of Deputies Bogdan Olteanu of the Romanian Parliament, Chairman of the Parliament of Moldova Marian Lupu, President of the Greek Parliament Anna Psarouda-Benaki, Chairman of the Federation Council Sergei Mironov and Chairman of the State Duma Boris Gryzlov of the Russian Federal Assembly.
