Two militants of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (Holy War) were shot dead by Israeli troops during a raid on the West Bank city of Nablus on Wednesday, Palestinian witnesses said.
The witnesses said that Israeli forces surrounded a building in Nablus where three Jihad militants hid in a predawn raid.
Two militants were killed and a third was wounded during an exchange of fire with the Israeli soldiers, they added.
The wounded militant was then arrested by Israeli forces.
Meanwhile, Saraya al-Quds, an armed wing of Jihad, said in a statement that its members-- Othman Sadqa, 26 and Mustafa Abdulghani, 22-- were killed in the clash with Israeli forces in Nablus.
The group vowed to revenge the killings with "an attack that will shake the Zionist entity."
In addition, the group claimed that its three militants were wounded in a Wednesday Israeli arrest campaign in the West Bank, during which 10 Palestinian civilians were also arrested.
Israel has stepped up military operations against Jihad since a Jihad suicide bomber blew himself up in Tel Aviv on April 17, killing 11 people and wounding dozens.
