Six Pakistani prisoners, including four children, were released by India government on Wednesday.

According to Xinhua cameraman in Amritsar, the Pakistani prisoners were sent back home via Wagah Border of Amritsar, northwest India's Punjab State.

The names of four Pakistani children were Imran Massi, Khuram Nawaz, Shoukat Ali and Mithun Massi.

This will take the total number of Pakistani prisoners released this year to 22. On February 13 and April 13, India released 16 Pakistani prisoners.

India and Pakistan freed over 1,000 prisoners languishing in each other's jails in the last two years, according to Indo-Asian News Service.
