Chinese Vice President meets with Tajik foreign minister

Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong met with Tajik Foreign Minister Talbak Nazarov in Beijing Wednesday.

Zeng told Nazarov that China appreciates Tajikistan's firm support on the issues including Taiwan, Tibet and its fight against the "East Turkistan" terrorist forces.

"China will also support, as it always has, Tajikistan's efforts of safeguarding independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity and its efforts to boost economic development," Zeng said.

He also voiced China's hope that the two countries would cooperate closely in international agencies including the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to jointly promote regional and world peace and stability.

In response, Nazarov said his country would continue to firmly abide by the one-China policy and hopes to intensify its cooperation with China on the fight against the "three evil forces" of terrorism, separatism and extremism within a bilateral framework or the SCO to jointly maintain regional peace and stability.

Both Zeng and Nazarov expressed their satisfaction with the fruitful cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic, trade and cultural fields over the past years.

Nazarov is in China for a nine-day visit as guest of his Chinese counterpart Li Zhaoxing.
