Hungary, Albania sign agreement on agricultural cooperation

The agriculture ministers of Hungary and Albania on Wednesday signed an agreement on the development of inter-governmental relations in agriculture, food processing, rural development and consumer protection.

Under the agreement, the two countries would exchange information on scientific and technological developments in agriculture, and establish relations between research institutions, the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture said.

In addition, Hungary will share with Albania its experience gained during its EU accession process, including information about the setting up of an authority for food safety.

A working team will be established within one month for the implementation of the agreement, which will be in effect for five years and then automatically extended by another five years unless either party objects.
