A technology exhibition opened on Saturday to show the Chinese visitors a totally different Leonardo Da Vinci, not a world famous painter, but a scientist and an inventor.
The exhibition, held in the Beijing Museum of Natural History, have 59 exhibits and duplicate copy of original manuscript. It mainly introduces to the Chinese the scientific achievements by Italy and Da Vinci 500 years ago.
The whole exhibition is separated into four parts, including the machine models made by Da Vinci, reproduction of the best seller Da Vinci Code, interractive multimedia that visitors can participate and carry out self education.
Officials from the organizing committee said this year marks the China-Italy cultural year, and this exhibition is expected to help the Chinese people have a more comprehensive understanding of the Italian culture.
During the two-month exhibition, the Chinese and Italian sponsors will also hold a series of seminars on Da Vinci, and introduce Italy's current scientific and technological achievements as well as in Renaissance.
