China's National People's Congress (NPC) Chairman Wu Bangguo made four suggestions in Chisnau Saturday on expanding cooperation between the parliaments of China and Moldova.

Wu, China's top legislator, said during the talks with Moldavian Parliament Chairman Marian Lupu that China and Moldova maintain the trend of exchanges of visits at top levels, expand exchanges between special committees, friendship groups, and young law-makers of the two parliaments, learn from each other in the areas of law-making and supervision, and strengthen coordination in law-making affairs at the world and regional levels.

Wu said cooperation between parliaments is an important part of bilateral relations and his visit here is to strengthen parliament cooperation to deepen Sino-Moldavian friendship.

The Moldavian parliament chairman said Moldova is willing to work together with the Chinese side to increase exchanges and cooperation between the Moldavian Parliament and China's NPC to contribute to the further development of bilateral relations.

Lupu said that Wu's visit is the first by a chairman of China's NPC to Moldova, which marks a new stage in the Moldavian-Chinese relations and exchanges between the parliaments of the two countries.

He expressed the belief that the visit by Wu would contribute to the full-fledged development of the bilateral relations.

Lupu reiterated on the occasion that Moldova adheres to the One- China policy and always holds that Taiwan is an undivided part of the Chinese territory.

After the talks, the two leaders attended the signing ceremony of an agreement on economic cooperation between China and Moldova.

Wu arrived here earlier Saturday for a two-day official good- well visit and Moldova is the second leg of his four-nation tour, which will also take him to Greece and Russia.
