The international community's close attention and active involvement will provide favorable conditions for restoring political stability and achieving economic revival in the Middle East, a Chinese government envoy said on Saturday.
In a written speech delivered at the World Economic Forum (WEF) conference on the Middle East held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Wu Sike said peace, stability and development in the Middle East is closely related to those in the rest of the world.
Wu, who is also Chinese ambassador to Egypt, said the World Economic Forum on the Middle East, focusing on the political and economic situation in the region, has become an increasingly important platform for dialogues between the world's political and business celebrities over the region's issues and for their discussions on ways of promoting mutual understanding and advancing the development of the Middle East.
In his speech, delivered on behalf of the Chinese government, Wu also expounded on China's viewpoints on the current world political and economic situations.
The three-day forum opened on Saturday in Egypt's Sinai resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, drawing some 1,200 political and business celebrities from nearly 50 countries around the world.
