Indonesia's tax revenues up 24 pct in first 4 months

Indonesia's tax revenues rose by 24. 27 percent year-on-year to 105.06 trillion rupiah (around 11.45 billion U.S. dollars) in the first four months of 2006, according to a government report released Monday.

Tax revenues from non-oil-and-gas sector reached 95.85 trillion rupiah (10.4 billion dollars), or equivalent to 91.23 percent of total tax revenues in the period, said the report from the taxation directorate submitted to the House of Representatives.

The non-oil tax revenues comprise 57.98 trillion rupiah in income tax, 36.06 trillion rupiah in value-added tax and luxury tax and 1.1 trillion rupiah in land and building tax.

The government has targeted tax revenues of 362.8 trillion rupiah (39.5 billion dollars) this year, up from the materialized 298.3 trillion rupiah (32.5 billion dollars) last year.
