    French jewelry designs glitter in Beijing (I)

    Collections of French jewelries designer Frédéric Mathon are showcased at the Oriental Plaza in Beijing from May 20 to June 11. Under the theme of More than Diamond, some 130 pieces of exhibits are in nine categories at the show sponsored by diamond giant HIERSUN where he serves. In 1994 Mathon became President of the prestigious Jewellery School "Ecole de la Bijouterie-Joaillerie" in Paris. Claude Monet who represents the French Impressionism art has profound impact on Mathon.

    Collections of French jewelries designer Frédéric Mathon are showcased at the Oriental Plaza in Beijing from May 20 to June 11. Under the theme of More than Diamond, some 130 pieces of exhibits are in nine categories at the show sponsored by diamond giant HIERSUN where he serves. In 1994 Mathon became President of the prestigious Jewellery School "Ecole de la Bijouterie-Joaillerie" in Paris. Claude Monet who represents the French Impressionism art has profound impact on Mathon.

    US Coast Guard makes first Chinese call

    A US Coast Guard vessel, called Sequoia, arrived in Shanghai on May 22 to make its first visit to China. The Sequoia, berthed at Gaoyang Road Port along the Huangpu River, participates in the 16th International Maritime Navigation Conference held on May 23. It is the first time this quadrennial meeting held in China and about 500 representatives from 50 countries and regions attended the conference.

    Romania reports new cases of bird flu
