German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Jacques Chirac will meet for informal talks ahead of the European Union summit next month, the government said Monday in a statement.
Merkel and Chirac will have talks on June 6, a week before the EU summit taking place in Brussels, the statement said.
The meeting venue will be in the eastern German town of Rheinsberg at a palace which used to belong to the Pussian King Friedrich the Great.
Both leaders will be accompanied by their foreign ministers, the statement said.
