German Chancellor arrives in ShanghaiVisiting German Chancellor Angela Merkel arrived in Shanghai Monday evening for the second leg of her three-day China visit. In Shanghai, Merkel is scheduled to ride the world's only commercially operating maglev line built with German technology. During her stay in Beijing, Chinese President Hu Jintao met with Merkel and Premier Wen Jiabao held talks with her. The two heads of government exchanged views on a wide range of issues concerning politics, economics, trade, technology, sports, culture and environmental protection, and reached broad consensus.
