S. Korean official says to deny Dalai Lama visa

South Korea decided not to permit a visit by the Dalai Lama, the Yonhap News Agency quoted an unnamed government source as reporting on Tuesday.

"I know the authorities have decided not to issue a visa to the Dalai Lama after reviewing South Korea-China relations and similar past cases," an official told Yonhap on condition of anonymity.

Dalai Lama recently applied for a South Korean visa to attend a meeting of Nobel Peace Prize laureates this month.

South Korea has rejected Dalai Lama's attempts to visit the country for several times.
