The Nepali government Thursday formed a team to open negotiations with guerrillas, three weeks after announcing a cease-fire and asking the guerrillas to come for talks, thehimalayantimes.com reported.
Headed by Home Minister Krishna Rasa Sitaula, the three-member team also includes Pradip Gyawali, minister for culture, tourism and civil aviation, and Ramesh Lekhak, minister of state for labor and transport management.
A cabinet meeting held at the residence of Prime Minister GP Koirala in Kathmandu Thursday morning appointed Gyawali and Lekhak members of the team.
The guerrillas have already formed a three-member dialogue team headed by spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara, according to the report.
