font size

Iran's First Vice-President Parviz Davoudi arrived in Islamabad on Thursday on a two-day visit for talks on bilateral and regional matters and international issues, officials said.

Pakistani Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri greeted the Iranian vice-president on his arrival at the military Chaklala air base.

Sources said that Iranian nuclear issue will prominently figure in talks, besides important political and economic issues including the proposed multi-billion Iran-Pakistan-India gas pipeline.

Davoudi is planned to address Pakistani traders in Islamabad.

Iranian and Pakistani leaders will discuss the situations in Afghanistan, Iraq and the Middle East as well as reforms in the Organization of Islamic Conference, sources said.

Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki is already in Islamabad to represent his country in the two-day Pakistan-Iran Joint Economic Commission meeting.
