Nepali Home Minister Krishna Prashad Sitaula said the talks between the Nepali government and the guerrillas will start soon, state-run Radio Nepal reported here Friday.
"The government has decided to free 467 guerrilla detainees from various security posts to create an environment for talks and to make it a decisive one," the radio quoted Sitaula as saying.
A week after taking the decision to form a three-member negotiating team led by Sitaula, the government on Thursday made public the names of two other members to hold talk with guerrillas.
Nepali Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Pradip Kumar Gyanwali and Ramesh Lekhak, minister for labor and transport management, were included in the team by the government.
Meanwhile, the government and guerrillas are all set to sit for direct talks possibly on Friday, local media reported.
"An understanding to initiate the dialogue was reached, following the government decision to give full shape to its dialogue team," The Kathmandu Post (TKP) English language daily of a private publications house reported Friday.
"Perhaps we are going to sit for the dialogue on Friday," the TKP quoted Krishna Bahadur Mahara, chief of the guerrillas preparatory talk team, as saying.
