Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing and Secretary of State of the United States Condoleezza Rice held a phone conversation on Saturday night.

Sources with the Ministry said Li and Rice exchanged views on implementing the consensus reached between Chinese President Hu Jintao and his U.S. counterpart George W. Bush during Hu's visit to the U.S. not long ago.

The two sides also exchanged views on resolving the Iranian nuclear issue through diplomatic efforts, the sources said.
