Nepali people could abolish monarchy even before elections to the Constituent Assembly if the king tried to become active again, the Communist Party Nepal- Unified Marxist Leninist General Secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal said.
"The forthcoming Constituent Assembly will decide the fate of monarchy," Nepal was quoted by Sunday's The Kathmandu Post newspaper as saying.
"But in case the king tries to become active in the midway, people will abolish the monarchy immediately," he said.
King should be ready to accept people's verdict in Constituent Assembly, Nepal said while addressing the party cadres here on Saturday.
Applauding the 25-point Code of Conduct reached between the government and the guerrilla negotiation teams on Friday, Nepal said that the ongoing negotiation will not end without achieving the expected goal.
He also urged the guerrillas to convince people about their commitment to peaceful political movement and Constituent Assembly by laying down their weapons.
