At least 11 persons died and over a dozen others injured Sunday in a road mishap in central Nepal, local media reported.
"At least 11 persons died and over a dozen others injured when a mini truck they were traveling in met an accident at Sisneri area of Makawanpur district, some 50 km south of Kathmandu," Kantipur F.M., a private radio station, reported.
"The overcrowded mini truck, with more than 60 passengers, overturned and fall 100 meters down the road," the radio quoted local police office as saying.
A total of 10 people died on the spot while another one died on the way to hospital, Area Police Office (APO) at Pharping area of neighboring Kathmandu district said.
Most of the injured have been taken to the local Man Mohan Memorial Hospital at Pherping.
Six of the seriously injured are undergoing treatment at Patan Hospital while three children have been referred to Bir Hospital for further treatment in downtown Kathmandu city.
At least two ambulance and a secutiy team have been sent to the incident site for rescue, the APO added.
