The China-made VSAT (very small aperature terminal) devices exported to Iran have been shipped to Iran and are expected to be stalled for test run in June, according to Chinanews Agency on Monday.
The devices will be likely to be handed over to the Iran and begin full-time operation in July.
Wan Xuedong with Beijing Aerospace Science & Industry Century Satellite Hi-tech Co. Ltd. said her company signed the contract in August 2005 with TA Cooperation of Iran through a foreign trade agency to provide National Iranian Oil Co. with VSAT devices and relevant services.
In January, Beijing Aerospace Science & Industry Century Satellite Hi-tech Co. Ltd. got all the VSAT devices and relevant materials ready and also got them approved by testing institute of Iran.
During this period, the company also trained staffs from National Iranian Oil Co. and TA Corporation to China and helped them finish the factory testing in China. The company plans to dispatch its technical team to Iran to install VSAT devices and conduct the test run at the beginning of June.
Wang Xuedong also said National Iranian Oil Company had begun the negotiation with her company over future expansion of VSAT system. Meanwhile talks about the collaboration issues concerning VSAT satellite communication are also under way with National Iranian Gas Company.
