Poland's Prime Minister Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz, on a one-day working visit to Helsinki, held talks on Tuesday with his Finnish counterpart Matti Vanhanen on issues such as Ukraine's EU accession and Europe's energy security, Polish news agency PAP said Tuesday.
During the talks, Vanhanen spoke highly of Poland's becoming an important member of the EU in a short time while Marcinkiewicz thanked the Finnish government for the opening of its labor market to new EU member countries as of May.
Marcinkiewicz said that they discussed the issue of EU enlargement, a process which involves n Bulgaria Romania, and talked about the prospect of Ukraine's accession.
As for the energy issue, Marcinkiewicz said energy security is "a very important issue for the EU as well as for all countries".
